So, as I said yesterday, Ina's barbecue sauce recipe ~ even halved ~ made a ton. Today, I discovered a use for part of that mason jar full of goodness:
Using ABED pizza dough, I spread out a couple of tablespoons of the sauce, then spread out diced barbecue chicken (leftover from last night), thinly sliced red onion, and mozzarella. Baked for seven minutes per pizza, added chopped cilantro when it came out of the oven: delicious! (even for a "pizza is only red sauce, green peppers, and meat" kind of guy!)
Those pizzas look to-die-for! And I love the fresh cilantro finish. Very summery.
ReplyDeleteOh, Matt would love this, his current favorite pizza is bbq chicken pizza, and I never think to make it at home. Yours looks wonderful...this is so going on the menu this week for here.
